How can I unzip a file within ao486?

Trying freedos unzip or p7zip resulted in the problem described here; the program just hung. Obviously I can always unzip outside it, but is there any way to unzip inside it?

You can get a copy of pkunzip like we used in the DOS days. It works. But if you can, it's much preferable to unzip outside the core, from Linux, because it's much faster.
