Neo Geo games, cannot skip game tutorial

For some weird reason whenever I try to play certain Neo Geo games (for example Neo Drift Out), I cannot skip the tutorial at the start of the game, and press A or Start buttons nothing happens. I have to wait for the countdown timer to run out. Once the game starts, input works as expected.
Any idea why? Thanks!

Very strange, can't replicate this issue on my Mister.
I would suggest to delete all settings of the core in the config folder

It sometimes happens to me when I play Neo Turfmasters. I found if I hold joystick down and press A or start button it works

I deleted all config files related to the game and it solved the issue. Thanks!

You know, I think I’ve also come across this issue too..looks like I’ll have to remember to delete the config files if I notice it again.

This also happens to me on Turfmasters, i was thinking it must just be me doing sometihng wrong! lol Thanx for the advise
