I recently got a LG 28MQ780-B and I am wondering about the best resolution settings for Mister.
The display natively runs at 2880x2560 in a 18:16 format.
As I dont think mister supports this resolution, what would be my best video mode setting for the resolution?

Hard to tell but isn't this effectively two 2560x1440 monitors stacked? I don't see any examples of a single source using the full 2880 as a single continuous display.
If so your best bet on the Mister is probably mode 12; 1920x1440, a 4:3 aspect ratio that will avoid any scaling on this display.
The DE-10's maximum resolution is 2048x1536. That's video_mode 13. I'd try both 12 and 13, to see which you like better.
Video_mode=14 is 2560x1440, but it's doubling the width of the horizontal pixels, so it's really 1280x1440. Video_mode=12 has more actual data, and 13 has the most pixels you can get at 1:1.
