well, looks like I have a lot to upload to RetroNAS. What's the name of the folder the cores uses for the CD games?

For everbody interested but not interested in Discord. Only thing missing here is the bios (top-sp1.bin), to be stored in /media/fat/games/NeoGeo

Thanks for the zip. I have a few questions:
Is the MISTer binary an unstable version?
Do the bios have to be named top-sp1.bin?
I suppose it supports bin/cue and chd.
What are the main problems with this beta?

Yes the Mister will be unstable. Unstable is the only one with support for the Neo Geo
Yes the bios has to be named that. The CDZ bios option currently does not work, nor does the Uni Bios.

Its supports both bin/cue and CHD. Folder name for files in NeoGeo just like the cart based Console/ Arcade

The main drawback is no sound and you have to play with the layer flags on some games to get them to display. Its very early days though and its great to see any progress

You will find a new version and the changelog below.

The specific MiSTer Main is still required and it is the same as the previous release.

I smoke tested the library and here is where we are at:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

Will no doubt be issues in there I didn't see as I just did quick loads into gameplay. If anyone finds other issues not on there let me know, or if you want to get involved in testing then just request edit access.

The same issues crop up across many games in the library, so likely single fixes will fix multiple games e.g. the graphical layering/loading issues. I also think there is an issue displaying transparencies in a number of games that show up as a mesh pattern in power bars etc.

If anyone can get into play on Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2.chd then let me know, I'm not sure what I am doing, it may be stuck in a loop or I am not selecting the right thing

Not sure about anyone else, but I've been playing MegaCD A LOT (1-2 hours daily) with the test MiSTer OS for the NeoGeoCD core, AND listening to CD audio on the MegaCD core (3+ hours daily in the background) to see if there are issues - and I can report none! :D

Hi, I replaced Mister file with yours and put the rbf file under /media/fat/_Console folder, also I downloaded two bios files top-sp1.bin & neocd.bin and put them under /media/usb0/games/NEOGEO folder.
I can see NEOGEO CD core from Mister menu, and I can change System Type to CD in the menu, but when I load a NEOGEO CD game in CHD file format, all I got is just a black screen. No sound & no graphic. The game I'm trying to run is called Ghost Pilot. Any idea what am I missing here?

I tried to toggle BIOS setting with both Original & UniBIOS but nothing works. I also tried to changed region to JP to match the game's region but no luck either. I just can't figure out what goes wrong here.

Update: I got it working now. It looks like I didn't successfully transfer that Mister file over the FTP. I then took out that microSD card and inserted it to PC and deleted it and copied over so now it works.

top-sp1.bin is the BIOS to use, I would delete neocd.bin in case it is making trouble. The core is WIP and I think only the mode CD works. The game you use should be playable.

Today MISTer Main was updated but does not contain the modifications for NGCD. I suppose a new unstable version based on this latest official release will be created.
Could someone post it here when it comes?
Thanks.

A new MiSTer Main is needed otherwise you will hear a lot of noise coming from your speakers :D

Here is a updated one which also includes the changes from release 0223.

NeoGeo_20230223.rbf does look like the CD version. :?: :?: :?:

Edit:
I also noticed that the Official NeoGeo core is also NeoGeo_20230223.rbf but has a different size from the one posted earlier in this thread.
