RTG Scart cable / Ini settings issue

Hi folks,

I use a monitor, and I have a CRT also and wanted to get my MiSTer working on that as well.

I bought a MiSTer VGA to RGB SCART Cable, plugged it in, and set composite_sync = 1, forced_scandoubler = 0, and vga_scaler=0.
It still didn't work other than for a second or two and I could see on the CRT the MiSTer was saying change the framebuffer to 0. So I changed that and then I saved my settings.
I can't remember if I changed anything else throughout that, but after I saved, it still didn't work on the CRT, and although I can still get cores working on my monitor screen, I now I can't get to the ini settings, nor can I update all. I noticed the background screensaver had changed too after I saved, now it's the snow effect.

Could anyone be able to point me in the right direction as to what to do here?

I added this to the bottom of my mister.ini, then press F2 to scroll until you see the wallpapers..
leave the comp_sync=1, forced_scan=0 and vga_scaler=0

I see the picture now on my CRT (it's a 90s 14 inch Sony Triniton). But I only see the picture for a second before it goes blank again. I can then press the AV button again, but then the same thing happens, and it goes off after a second.

isn't that related to the 12v needed on scart to keep it enabled? I had something like this in the past with my mx7000

I have no idea at all. I'd never heard of that before even.

I'm no good with electrical stuff in that way myself, so I don't know where I'd go with that.

this is the vga/scart cable I use. it says it's for the spectrum next but it does work on the MiSTer also

Oh, I've got the answer. I took it out of the four way scart block and plugged it directly into the TV.

haha sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.. glad you've got it sorted.
