MegaAGS Game Saving

Unread post by KnightNZ »

I was playing Cannon Fodder earlier using MegaAGS and the games save ok, but don't persist across reboots. Is there any way to make this happen other than remembering to press Del to exit?

Thanks!

You have to exit the game with the WHDload quit key to activate the save process to the drive to my knowledge.

Think of it as the same concept as with MiSTer cores — saves won’t stick there either unless you invoke the system that is in charge of the container. To make e.g an SNES game save “stick”, you have to open up the OSD so the system can write it to disk outside of the container. If you just reset MiSTer, you will lose your saves.

WHDLoad (which is the system AmigaVision/MegaAGS uses) works similarly, if you don’t exit the “container” that runs the game, it has no way to write the save to disk.

Makes sense. Thank you!
