I'm exploring the CD library and started playing this game. I've tried two different rips/versions and they both freeze at the some spot, when you face Kabuki as an opponent. Is this the best place to report an issue like this?

Is this a random-selection thing, or can the opponent be selected ?

When playing the story/scenario mode, the fighters you face and in what order appear to be random. In video 2 Kabuki is my 6th opponent. In video 3 Kabuki is my 8th opponent.

I accidentally listed video 3 twice, in Video 1 one he's my 8th opponent.

I didn't check vs. mode to see if it also causes issues.

I tested it myself: you can select opponents in single player mode.

I tried also 2 players mode: if you select two Kabukis on any stage, it works, but any character on the Kabuki Danjuro stage (it's the one selected as default in VS mode) will freeze the loading of the Arcade Card data apparently.

I've confirmed the issue on my own rip from original disc, and submitted a GitHub bug report.
It's easiest to occur on 2-player mode; it actually happened every time for me in that mode.

srg320 has committed a fix for this to the Main-MiSTer core.
While it has not yet it into a release yet, I have tested the fix and it works.
It will be in the next release, and I will close the GitHub issue at that time.

The release came out. I retested, and it's fixed. I have closed the GitHub ticket.
