Color hacks not supported ?

Hi All,
Has anybody been able to get the following hack to load ?
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3784/
If I load the rom in GB mode I have a screen saying this hack can only be played on GBC. If I load the rom in GBC mode then all I get is a black screen with the "Gameboy beep" over and over again as if the core was not able to properly launch the rom.
I am guessing that the core has problems reading this particular hack but wanted to raise it here to make sure I did not miss something that would actually allow me to get it to play.

Did you patch the correct rom? Check crc32/sha1/md5

Did you by any chance run the bios updater script?
I did and the one downloaded isnt the most compatible one.
Added a new bios file and now everything works again.

Getting a different BIOS fixed the problem !
The script was updated and it now includes a bios that will not cause the problem I reported here.

When in doubt don't use an external bios, the included open source one has a high compatibility rate (I only found one demo that had a glitchy background because the bios is using the 2nd vram)
