Any way to control Forgotten Worlds better?

What I'm specifically referring to is controlling with via two analog sticks, somehow. Like in the
Capcom Classics Collection.
The Genesis method is alright, but man the PS2 method blows it out of the water.

Well....the arcade machine is controlled by a joystick and additional spinner.
You could purchase the "ikari joystick" by thundersticks, like I did.
Forgotten Worlds is one of my "all time favourite" acrade games btw.
Very sad capcom didn't produce a sequel until now

I purchased the "international version" of this joystick at thundesticks and it came toll free to my home in germany.
So...no worries

That looks pretty interesting. I'll delve more into it.

Luck In Denmark I guarantee the package will be opened, VAT and toll added + a €25 fee.
Anyhoo, is it confirmed to work with the MiSTer FPGA?

I use the ThunderStick spinners in my Arcade Control setup. They work perfectly for Forgotten Worlds, Tempest, Bally Astrocade games, etc. I haven't figured out a good calibration for Irritating Maze yet, so that would be one game that's a bit off on them. Everything else I've thrown at them works great though! I'd recommend any products from them. They seem to all work great with the MiSTer, where some others haven't.
To be fair, I've used the GroovyGameGear ones in PC based setups, and they were flawless. I believe they also work great on Pi systems, but I had some issues on the MiSTer getting them detected properly, and onto the correct Axes. For MiSTer I would definitely go with ThunderStick.
Side note, I also use Ultimarc boards for the Joystick/Button setups, if that's useful information. (though I think ThunderStick also has interface boards now, so I would guess those would work nicely too) I think I'll try them in my next build.
One thing I learned with the below setup, is that I should have had one button closer to the spinner. Right now it's not too bad, as I use my thumb with the righ-most button and my fingers on the spinner. That actually works fine, but having a dedicated button much closer would have made it a bit more comfortable.

@lagerfeldt
If I remember correctly the parcel from thundersticks wasnt shipped directly from the US, but came from an adress here in germany. I guess they
ve created a "european branch" for the "international version" of the stick. How else could they claim distribution outside of the USA with an official license by SNK?

I use the ThunderStick/GRS Push & Pull Spinner, which perfectly replicates the arcade game’s control scheme.

Well, I found a September Tweet where Jotego has it, and said he is adding support for Forgotten Worlds. However, I don't know past that. I'm guessing
"yes" or "soon". I ordered one, myself. Stuff like this goes fast and then costs a fortune later.

So, I have the stick. How would I go about setting up the spin function? All I have figured out is trying spinning it left and right when it asks what to use to rotate. But that works very poorly.

I guess there's no support for this stick yet?
Maybe I'll fiddle faddle with it in MAME, in the meantime...

Thunderstick works with Forgotten Worlds on Mister.
Make sure the stick is in mouse mode, (Red) and use the free spinning knob, set the Way to spinner

Is there a vid or a "how to" anywhere on this? I've read on how to put a stick into mouse mode, and it's telling me to hold the Mouse/EMU buttons, and things like that, and I have no idea what that would be. A bit lost here.
Reading on the "Mister FPGA Bible" page.

What he's referring to about putting the stick into mouse mode (RED), is not a MiSTer thing but a controller thing. The controller, if assembled with it's 2-in-1 button, has a Mode and a Way button on it, press and hold the Mode button until it turns RED. That puts the spinner in "Mouse" mode.
There are some videos out there that reference it..I believe one of Glen's videos show it. Do a google search for the controller along with glen's retro show.

It's also in the user manual and has QR codes to videos on how to change the modes.
Basically you hold the Mode part of the button down and press button 1,2 or 3. Button 4 puts the stick into SNK mode (Purple) which works with the SNK 40th anniversary pack on steam or Switch
The way button is used to select how many Ways you want the stick to detect. Swap the knobs to match the way you choose.
