Hi guys, I tried searching and didn't see a resolution to my particular problem, I wonder if you can help. I have a Dell 2007FPB and I'm trying to use the INI file linked below as an alt. I imagine this should work perfectly, but I get a "signal out of range / change to 1600 x 1200 60hz" error message on the Dell. is there something not right in this INI? Thank you.

This may be an issue:
Code: Select all
video_mode=1,1600,64,192,304,1200,1,3,46,162
try this and see if that helps:
Code: Select all
video_mode=1600,64,192,304,1200,1,3,46,162

That worked! Thank you. Although now I see other issues, like it disables 5X upscaling, which I would need for the 1600X1200 I would think.
Edit: sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that your advice caused a problem with 5X, just that something in the INI might be causing it.

First make sure your vertical scaling mode is set correctly:
Code: Select all
vscale_mode=1 ; 0 - scale to fit the screen height.
It appears so from the snippet of your INI, which I assume is not the whole INI. Make sure you use an actual, full INI file - make a renamed copy of the main version that works and simply edit the new video mode(s) in.
Have you tried a simple calculated mode?
Then later when it comes to PAL and NTSC perhaps again simply set:
Code: Select all
video_mode_ntsc=1600,1200,60
video_mode_pal=1600,1200,50
A vsync of 0 is pretty choppy and slow, can't you use at least 1 with the Dell, even though it's an oldie?

Hi guys, I did get it working. Thank you! Although the 2007FPB seems a bit dim. But I think that's the nature of the beast.

What what your final ini settings. And what cable are you using. I’m having trouble getting my monitor to work.
