can someone guide me to map a controller + keyboard on the atari 5200 and coleco core?

My understanding is that you cannot map two devices to one input, it’s either keyboard or controller not both.

Not sure about the keyboard and a controller, but for sure you can map two controllers to one input. It is in the MiSTer.ini where you will do this. I usually use the PID/VID's to specify the multiple devices. This would be under a section manually defined at the end of the INI file for the specific core name [atari5200].
