Should I change the video_mode settings if I am using IO board with CRT

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my MiSTer setup with a RGB SCART CRT monitor (15kHz) and connected it to the MiSTer with a VGA to SCART cable with a 470 Ohm resistor on the sync line as per official Wiki's instruction. Before this, I was using the MiSTer with a 4k tv over HDMI cable, with video_mode = 8.

I have set these options to the ini file for the MiSTer and the CRT is functioning well:

Code: Select all

forced_scandoubler=0
vga_mode=rgb
composite_sync=1
vga_scaler=0

However, I was wondering if the video_mode settings will have any effects if I am outputing analog signals on the IO Board? Should I comment out the video_mode in my ini settings?

video_mode is only for the output over HDMI, it has no impact on the output from the Analog IO board. You can use HDMI and analog output simultaneously, this can be especially useful for capture or comparisons sake.
