Black Screen

Hello!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Every game I load shows up with a black screen. Confirmed the ROMs work in mupen64plus. I reformatted my SD card image and also added boot.rom and boot1.rom files to the /games/N64 directory. I even added entries for my ROMs in N64-Database_user.txt and it still doesn't show up as recognized. Has anyone experienced this issue?

When running update_all and pressing up to enter settings, what do you have enabled?

Unlike mupen64plus, I believe that the MiSTer core only accepts roms in big endian format. Check that your rom files have the extension .z64 (not .n64 or .v64).

Check to see if you have BIOS files enabled after hitting up when prompted by update_all

Oh are you sure that's true? If so I will try a z64 file.

I ran a script called "update" in the script directory. I don't have "update_all" and when I ran "update" I didn't see anything about settings.

I highly recommend using update_all.sh

I ran update all and tried multiple ROM formats and still just get a black screen. I'm at a loss.

Okay I figured it out. I was loading my ROMs from a USB stick, not from the SD card. This prevents things from working because MiSTeR looks in the USB stick for the BIOS file when you load games from the USB stick. Thanks all.
