My SNAC port doesn't work... mostly.

NES SNAC? No response. SNES SNAC? No response. PSX SNAC? No button press response, but the dualshock button lights up.
N64 SNAC works for ports 1, 2, 4. Port 3 does not work.
Anyone have any ideas? PSX SNAC actually used to work. Someone even sent me a replacement adapter and it doesn't work still.

Which IO board are you using (including version)?
Which SNAC adapters are you using?
Are you using a level shifter?
Have you checked your DE10-Nano's DIP switches are set correctly?
Also might be worth noting that SNAC controllers don't work in the OSD and you'll need to set the input as SNAC in each core's menu.

Most of these questions still apply.

Sorry, yes you are right.
I tried PSX, gave a MiSTercade, used a PSX from Misterfpga and had DIPs in the right place (I don’t recall having to move them from the standard MiSTercade settings).
Every option in the PSX core pretty much lit up the button on the controller but it wouldn’t take inputs in game. I tried PSx, PSone and PS2 controllers.
I don’t have the SNAC adapter anymore though as Misterfpga kindly refunded me. I would like to get it working at some point as I was planning on getting adapters / controllers for other systems.

Had you set the input to "SNAC" in the core and checked the controller was connected to the correct port on the adapter? In the PSX core specifically you can set SNAC input independently per player to facilitate virtual memory cards.
Failing that and after checking your MiSTer Main and cores are up-to-date, it's probably worth getting in-touch with MiSTerAddons or consulting the MiSTercade's manual in case there's any additional setup steps you may have overlooked.

Thanks for the feedback.
I did set to SNAC in the PSX core. In fact I tried every combination of p1 and p2. I used the ports indicated as SNAC in the Mistercade documents.
Misterfpga confirmed the adapter was ok when I returned it. Misteraddons couldn't help me as I was using another supplier’s SNAC adapter.
I will get another one at some point and will post again.
Cheers

I used a Analog IO board and then I switched to Digital. Both do not work. I got the newest Digital IO board from MiSTer Addons and no luck.
All of my SNAC adapters were purchased from eBay, NES/SNES were purchased from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/usr/mister_pixel_l ... ing_addons PSX one purchased from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/str/7407chrisl
I don't know what a level shifter is!
I contacted the PSX SNAC adapter seller and he told me which switch to set and it didn't change anything unfortunately.

The PSX SNAC certainly worked on my Mistercade.
Have you tried any other SNAC adapters or the mt32? As the port may be faulty.

I don't know what a level shifter is!
For some SNAC adapters you need a level shifter. The voltage coming from the user port will be 3.3v when the device needs 5v to function correctly.

Oh THAT. Yeah, I have that. It didn't make a difference unfortunately and the PSX one has one build into it(?).

PSX and N64 do not need one, no.

Did you hook them up using a cable?
Perhaps check your ports' solder joints?
