Issue installing MisterFusion on MiSTer Pi

Hi all, just got my RetroRemake Mister Pi yesterday.

Followed the instruction video, and flashed a new microsd card (Samsung 256gb - bought in-store from a major retailer) with the MisterFusion image (on a Mac using ApplePieBaker). Now when I try and turn on the device to complete the installation, everything starts spinning up but my screen only shows a blueish color (other times the screen says there's no input signal and stays black), and never gets to the mister fusion install screen. Any idea what might be going on?

I'm using the Steam Deck PSU btw + tried restoring the sd card and reflashing it multiple times.

Just to get the obvious question out of the way…
Are you putting the SD card in the right way?

Ha yeah, good that you ask. I think I am, with the MiSTer Pi there's only one SD slot. And it has this click-mechanism so it can only go in one way.

I have had issues with ApplePiBaker setting up Mr. Fusion in the past, so I switched to balenaEtcher and haven’t had any issues since. (I wish I could use the open source solution, but I also need it to be reliable)

Might be worth trying to eliminate that as a variable. And as always, try a second SD card to rule out that the one you have may be defective.

Tried balenaEtcher as well. Most likely variable now is the sd card. I'll go pick one up from the store (non-samsung and smaller size) and see what that does.

Are all the dip switches flipped the right way?
Even if they are try flipping all of them back and forth a couple of times to get rid of some factory goo.
Probably unlikely to help, but it's atleast a small chance to be the fault, and it's fast and safe to try!

How should they be flipped? Havent looked into that, so might give it a try if the sd thing doesn't work out.

Refer to the documentation here.

Was able to pick up another microSD card (different brand and smaller in size), that seemed to do the trick. Thanks all for thinking along. Excited to delve into all the options tonight :)
