Possible to automate *video processing* ONLY for native Amiga modes and not RTG? i.e. Scanlines, Shadow Masks, etc

I know that Amiga Vision is able to dynamically turn off the basic Scandoubler FX CRT when in RTG mode, but I vastly prefer the video processing effects instead.

Is there a way to automate this (based on Amiga resolution?) or do I have to manually enable and disable each time?

My workbench is configured in Picasso96 to a custom 960x540 resolution and output at 2x (1920x1080) on the MiSTer.

you can make individual config settings in the ini file for each core.

We don’t turn off Video Processing effects in AmigaVision, they are disabled when you are in RTG modes by the core itself (or at least that used to be the case, haven’t tested lately).

AmigaVision does not use the Scandoubler FX, and I assume those might be able to affect the signal in RTG modes, since they work in VGA modes. However, we have no programmatic way to toggle those from the Amiga side of things, so you will probably have to use the OSD to adjust it every time.

That is one of the resolutions we include in the Workbench menus (RTG “540p”), so there’s also no need to create a custom one — unless you meant that you customized it to make that the default. 😄

Currently, for me, this is not happening. With MiSTer connected to a HDMI display, I am getting the your minimig video processing preset on Workbench RTG mode when running Amiga Vision.

My bad, I my have been confused about this, but in reference to my above reply, I didn't have Scandoubler FX turned on during that testing phase.

Sorry I should have been clearer here. For my two replies above, I was talking about my experience using Amiga Vision, but when I referred to Workbench I was talking about a fresh Amiga OS 3.2.2.1 install I created for productivity apps and a small sample of games that I launch through Workbench with WHDLoad. I created it because I like to have my own "daily driver" set up to my needs, and the Workbench supplied with Amiga Vision is only 3.1, and has a lot of things missing or hidden, and frankly I'm afraid to mess with it in case it screw up Amiga Vision lol.

So it was on my own Workbench install where I copied your great idea of creating a 960x540 display in Picasso96 for a more Amiga-like experience (for my monitor, 1080p is too high res and the UI is too small). But regardless of my own HDF or Amiga Vision, I'm having the issue of the minimig core not turning off Video Processing automatically in RTG mode.

It's all the same core. RTG mode is just an option inside the minimig core. If there's a way to achieve this using ini?

Not at the moment, no. RTG uses the framebuffer directly, and Video Processing effects do not apply (as far as I know, that was certainly the case in the past).
