Problem, Brawler 64 does not work properly on some n64 games (concker bad furday) (looses connection only hard reset helps)
Explain the problem:
When playing "Conckers bad Furday" with a brawler64 controller, when using "crouch function", or get some kind of rumble, or in a specific part of game, the connection in the core to the controller is lost, and it inputs last know commands.
I had it mostly when using the crouch function, and on the part in 1st level whem you have the 2nd bridge, and crouch on the bridge, and crouching to the end of bridge.
Connection is fine between dongle and controller, however not to the N64core. Only a hard reset of the MISTer, (power cycle) put it out of this situation.
Tested with turbo core , normal core. Rumble pack on and off, V1 and V2 adapter on different firmware. Controller on different firmware.
Maybee this is common knowledge here, but i was not aware..
After some extensive testing i have com up with a solution that works:
Items used:
-8bit dongle v2 (version 1 does not work stable in mine case)
-PSX or, switch, or Xbox controller compatible with the used dongle.
1: Pair dongle with PSX , switch or XBOX one to the v2 dongle
2: Set dongle into D-input mode. (psx) (share + left dpad) for 3 sec. light wil blink om dongle confirming switch to D input.
3: Set brawler64 to d input mode (hold B+bind button on back) top and bottom led blinks conforming Dinput mode
and is in pairing mode
4: Press bind botton on dongle. Brawler 64 should connect, confriming by rumble and solid led on top and bottom on controller.
(confirming controller is bound in D-input)
5: You only have rumble support on "X-input". So there is no rumble in n64core with this controller.
NOTE:
For games such as "F-zero" and "Starfox" you want to do the following:
Set controller up in N64 core. When used to "setup alternative", select "YES".
Select the "right Z button" to also be "R". So both triggers are "do a barrel roll" or in F-zero to "lean the vehicel" with both
triggers/
