MiSTer Composite Warmer Colors Than Normal Console

Hello, I have noticed that games running on my Mister using Antonio's Composite/S-VIDEO Adapter (I have both versions of said adapter) seem to be "warmer" and maybe more saturated on the Mister than the traditional console using the same cable type (composite).

These changes are minimal, but are bothering me. I have provided a screenshot of my CRT running FFXI on the actual console and on the Mister.

MiSTer FPGA using Composite:

PS1 using Composite:

I know the changes are very minor and hard to tell, but they are enough while using the mister to be noticeable and I am just wondering if there is some config fix I am missing.

Thanks

Which adapter is that ? There are (at least) two on his site.
If this is regarding the unit with the AD723 chip (see product description), that would be a question for Antonio, as that is not an official product, and the signal is produced entirely by the board.

It's the cheaper one that requires the custom / updated cores. I'll send him an email.

Just as an aside, here is an example of the issue on the OSD. if I switch the .ini to an alt that uses the adapter, you can see that the menu in B&W is very crisp and clear. Then it gets a red ting to it and becomes slightly more blurry. Not sure if this is a known effect.

It is just how it is with mister composite I think. My misteraddons and retrocastle yc active adapters through misteraddons 6.2 io board vga are all warmer than real hardware. Colors are closer to svideo it seems. Going through benfei hdmi vga is even more saturated for me.

Although I don't know the details of his implementation, the cheaper one is more likely to be closer to "official".
The text stating that it requires "custom cores" is not really accurate, as the composite carrier updates have been adopted into the framework, and should be in most official cores by now (though there may be some laggards).

The "red tinge" is basically expected on composite.
About the colours, people have generally been saying that MiSTer's (NTSC) composite output is often better/less "washed out" than original consoles' composite output. These comments are related to NTSC; I don't know how well PAL compares.
