Keyboardless operation

Unread post by ARCADEAGES »

Hey gang,

I have my MiSTer installed in an arcade cabinet, and I would like to setup some sort of key-combination (eg. UP and START) on the control panel to bring up the MiSTer menu instead of hitting F12 on a keyboard.

Can anyone share details on how to accomplish this?

If you run through the controller setup that is in the main Mister menu (not the one in each individual core) there is an option to set a menu key. It can be a 2 button combination.

We were just talking about this Owlnonymous’ discord.

The 2-button configuration works great. I have mine set to Start and Select.

Assign a button to the menu key when defining inputs. Mod the cabinet with another button and label it "menu" :P
