I use Atari 2600, Atari 800 and Commodore 64 cores frequently. I am very sensitive to input lag.
I current own a 2600-daptor so I can use original Atari joysticks: https://www.2600-daptor.com/

I was thinking of getting a Daemonbite Atari adapter (unfortunately sold out) which has very low lag. I was wondering, is this even worth it? Its not expensive, but I cant find any actual data on the 2600-daptor regarding lag. I know Daemonbite is 0.75 or so. Was really curious what the 2600-daptor is.

Just FYI, a Daemonbite 9-pin adapter only supports joysticks (in regard to the 2600). That means paddles, keypad, trackball, driving controller, etc. (which can be used via a 2600daptor) are out of the question with Daemonbite.

The less-than 1ms extra lag from a 2600Daptor is not noticeable to me, and is well worth all the extra supported controllers (I also use mine with Intellivision controllers)

This is not a good option for many people because you actually need to physically modify the controller internals, destroying a functional OEM controller (it will no longer work with original Atari systems). In general it would be better to get an external adapter.

All you need to do is connect 1 wire, it's easily reversible. And new paddle controllers (the 2600+ ones) are still being made today, so it's easy to get an extra set if one doesn't want to keep reversing the mod.
