QMTech MiSTer - rotated scanlines? [solved]

Unread post by Newsdee »

So I got myself a QMTech MiSTer after hearing good things about it.

Mostly it's been working identically to a DE-10... except that video filters seem to be inverted!
Does anybody else have the same problem?

At first I suspected was my installation, but I swapped the SD card from one of my other MiSTers (that use a DE10 Nano),
and got the same result on QMTech hardware.

Here is an example screenshot - note how I set the vertical filter to use scanlines and they appear horizontally.
Similarly (not pictured), if I set horizontal scanlines, they will render vertically.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Actually this may be happening on regular DE-10 hardware too... was there an update recently in MiSTer main?

It is the same on regular DE-10 Nano, it has been there for years and it is not a bug. Horizontal scanlines are generated by a vertical filter.

You're absolutely right - it turned out to be a problem of the capture card I was using, it was removing scanlines...
Using the MiSTer on a regular display worked fine.
