Menu based C64 game collection?

Unread post by DarBer »

Is there any menu based C64 game collection like the one for Amiga, Amigavision?

Or like 0MHz DOS collection, When I start a C64 game that it start C64 and load the game automatically?

The closest you can get is the OneLoad64 collection, where you load a single file and it automatically starts the game.

The C64 doesn’t really have the ability to build something like AmigaVision, but you may be able to use MGL support (not sure if the C64 core supports it) if you prefer launching it from the main MiSTer menu 0MHz-style.

But personally, I think the way OneLoad64 does it is perfect — load the core, select your game, done.

OneLoad has bunch of games converted t cartridge format which can be executed right after being selected. With Dolphin DOS, you can also install any disk image (D64, D81 etc.) and press LEFT SHIFT + ESC to automatically load and from the run the game.
