MiSTer FPGA Forum

This has been occurring for some time now.

I cant figure out the when or why, but seemingly every other time i visit and attempt to login, I am unable.

I know my credentials are correct (sourced from Apple password manager) yet in most cases no matter how many times i try, I cannot login.

I am running iOS 18.x, but this was occurring before on previous OS version.

Today it worked just fine.
I know there isnt much meat on this bone, so the next time it occurs I will try to do a screen recording.

Ideas?

On my MiSTer the IP address of the device seems to change with every reboot, it starts with xxx.xx.30 and when I pull the plug and instantly reboots it is xxx.xx.31. I think this is because the MiSTer does not unconnect from my router (pulling the plug) and so my router thinks it is still there and gives the MiSTer another IP the next time.

Are you having trouble logging into the forum or your MiSTer? Assuming it’s the forum I think it might have to do with Private Relay which acts like a VPN to avoid using your exact IP address. I find that I have occasional trouble logging in when that’s enabled.

Yes, the forums, not the MiSTer herself.

And ahhh that must be it. I do have Private Relay enabled. Perhaps the forum is blocking the ranges used by Apple's service? I prefer to use a relay/vpn hop.

I'm not sure what is going on behind the scenes that prevents the login sometimes, but not others. I've found that when it happens I can keep attempting and eventually it lets me in. Sometimes I will close the page in Safari and reopen which then allows the login. Very bizarre for sure.

Ah, didn't read the forum part Thought it was about logging on to the MiSTer, sigh, should read more carefully
