save states disabled for boot.rom

Unread post by Veto »

I set Super Metroid as boot.rom in the root of SNES and it loads fine but the save state options are greyed out. I tried the same thing in the NES core and the save state options are available. Anyone have a workaround?

I would assume this is a bug. Probably best to report it on github.

You do mean auto save don't you? MiSTer does not make use of save states.

Correct me someone if I'm wrong but, I believe that whatever boot.rom you use will not be able to use the save function.

What ever you set as a boot.rom will not create a save file.

I would use something that does not make saves as your boot.rom.
It is my great regret that we live in an age that is proud of machines that think and suspicious of people who try to.
