No longer saving controller buttons

I have to reset the controller buttons every time I switch to a new core. It used to be fine until an update.
This is a weird change that's been included in the MiSTer framework abuot a month ago.
You have to press the "A" button while in the core (not its menu) to activate and assign a controller to a player.

I hope the change will be reverted.
