You don't need the expansion boards.

Yes, You don't need the boards, but having them makes life easier, when you want more than one USB connected (without resorting to a standalone hub)

Also easy access to reset and OSD functions, and a dedicated line out for non HDMI audio.

Look online for a multiregion bios.
Rename it to boot.rom and replace your existing bios..

I use it on mine.. just had to shave a small bit off around the wooden socket area so it plugs straight in without any other extension cables.

Pickup an smsl class d amplifier https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06VWT6C14/ excellent quality sound.
Will require a stereo 3.5mm to rca phono cable
