When connecting to a CRT what are the advantages of the analog board over the digital one?

I have a digital IO board and now have it connected to a CRT via direct video. I am wondering if the analog board has any advantages over using the digital board? The ones I can think of are

1. Slightly cleaner setup (i.e. you can get a single VGA to SCART cable rather than a HDMI to VGA adapter then connected to VGA to SCART)
2. Audio through SCART because the Mister FPGA cable also has a 3.5mm jack to connect to the analog audio out.

Is there anything else?

For me it's the ability to output to both HDMI and YPbPr at the same time

You should prolly just avoid the crt altogether, it seems like you don't like the disadvantages of it over a digital display. With the modern display you can do all the things you want, rotate, scale, etc, that you cannot do on a crt. Seems like you just don't care for it overall.

The non latest Analog IO board is worse than the digital setup. Its only 18 bit where as the digital can output 24 bit

With the Analog IO board, cores can generate a YC signal over the VGA port, which can be used for super-VHS output and very accurate looking composite output.

The OP is already using CRT and asking if there is more to gain from the analogue board.

The OP is already using CRT and asking if there is more to gain from the analogue board.

I wasn't going to bother replying to you to be completely honest as I didn't see the point in arguing. Whether I end up keeping the CRT or not is completely irrelevant to the question I asked in this topic. I am really not sure why you felt the need to chip in on something that doesn't answer anything in this topic.

As it is, one of the things that has come out of the answers in here is that an analog board would actually allow dual output which means I can have the Mister plugged into CRT and LCD at the same time which solves the issue I had (i.e. LCD for arcade and CRT for anything else) as my CRT and LCD are currently side by side. I know I could achieve that with the digital board but it would mean keep plugging between the two which is a hassle.

Thanks for your input on this topic but it added absolutely nothing useful to the conversation as pointed out by others already.

I just got the new 9.2 with mezzanine board and none of the arcade cores I’ve tried work via VGA > YPbPr > CRT nor audio via toslink on the same cores.

I do not know if the new MiSTerAddons board is any different.
